A large order from Belgium for VDL: The Bus and Coach division will supply a total of 76 buses for Belgium based ‘De Lijn’, they provide public transport for our southern neighbours.
It is the second major order from De Lijn for VDL. Less than two years ago VDL also supplied all of the 120 hybrid city buses.
And perhaps this will not be all. Chances are that next year another large order will follow. VDL could then supply an additional 131 buses for De Lijn. This will include 10 practice buses.
The 76 buses which have been ordered now will be made in Roeselare, Belgium, where VDL also has a subsidiary. Early next year, the buses should be operational.
The actual amount involved in this order, was not disclosed.
