The eleven finalists of the talent show ‘Jouw Slimste Idee’ (your smartest idea) have been announced. A finalist is chosen from each municipality in the region of Southeast Brabant.
Jouw Slimste Idee is a contest for children, where they are challenged to come up with new inventions. The theme of this edition is The World Exhibition. The final will be held on the sixth of June, and the final presentations are to be done along with the mayors of their towns.
Flore van Buul of Eindhoven was nominated for her "handenwasscanner" (hand washing scanner). She is accompanied by Deputy Mayor Staf Depla. Vanity Bakermans is the finalist from Geldrop-Mierlo. She invented a hair dryer with battery and charger. She is accompanied by Alderman Miranda Verdouw.
In total, around 1,000 children participated in the preliminary round. Together they brought in nearly 600 ideas.
