Thousands watch Lampegat Parade

The Lampegat (the name Eindhoven is given during the Carnaval period) Parade started at the Dommelstraat around 13:00 this afternoon.

Thousands of spectators lined the 2.5-kilometre-long route along the Vestdijk, Catharinaplein, Wal and Geldropseweg. The parade lasted more than 2 hours and some 45 groups and clubs took part.

At the end of the afternoon, prizes for the best Carnaval float or group of both the adult and children’s parade will be awarded at the Effenaar.
