Eindhoven politics say goodbye to Krol

Henk Krol said goodbye to Eindhoven as councilor of the ‘Ouderen Appèl’ (elderly appeal). Last night was a farewell moment at ‘Stadhuis’ (city hall) and his successor Wim Claassen was installed.

According to Krol he can not combine his job as chairman of 50Plus in parliament with the council membership in Eindhoven.

Krol was repeatedly discredited last year. He would have made improper use of grant money when he was editor of the ‘Gay Krant’ (gay magazine). And he would have paid no pension contributions for his staff in that period. In Eindhoven many parties therefore had doubts about his position as a councilor.

Krol himself denies all allegations and finds that the Eindhoven council members have not studied the issues. He reiterates that he has never put a dime in his pocket.
