ID Fraud suspect detained at Eindhoven Municipality

Strong increase in burglaries in student homes

The police detained a suspect, which tried to request a social security number, by using a false ID card. The suspect was detained immediately at the Eindhoven Municipality counter yesterday.

Apparently, the police have a new course of action regarding ID fraud. As soon as there is suspicion of ID fraud, the ‘Afdeling Vreemdelingen Identificatie Mensenhandel’ (department of foreigners, identification and human trafficking, formerly called ‘Vreemdelingenpolitie’ (foreigners police) are immediately alarmed.

The authorities take care of the immediate detention of a suspect, so that further investigation can take place. This course of action seems to be a more efficient way in dealing with ID fraud.
