Ford Eindhoven applies for bankruptcy

The director of Ford Eindhoven/Helmond applied for bankruptcy in court today.

This means that, for the time being, an end has come to 15 years of existence of a Ford dealer in Eindhoven and Helmond. Unfortunately, it also means that as a result, fifteen employees are losing their jobs. The employees were informed about the application for bankruptcy by the director and owner, Mr. Cees Hendriks, yesterday. According to the director, the disappointing results of car sales in recent years were the reason for the application for bankruptcy.

The court will appoint a curator tomorrow. Hendriks hopes that the court-appointed curator will look into the possibility of a relaunch. Should this happen, it will mean that some of the employees will be able to keep their jobs.

Hendriks became sole owner of Ford Eindhoven in January of this year. He shared the premises with Mercedes; thereby keeping costs low. Unfortunately, this did not prevent the bankruptcy.

According to the owner, employees’ salaries have been paid and also cars ordered by customers will be taken care of. He goes on to say that he is the one who is most affected by the bankruptcy. The dealership is open today in order to address customer queries.
