Tank truck in ditch on motorway A67

Last night, a tank truck came off the A67 near Geldrop and ended up in a ditch. The truck was carrying hazardous substances, but no leaks have been reported.

The accident occurred around 03:30 Hrs. It is still unclear what caused the truck to come off the road. The driver did not get hurt, but was taken to the police station for questioning.

The tank truck is filled with a liquefied gas. It could be either propane, butane or LPG. The fire department keeps taking measurements to test if there are any leaks.

One lane of the motorway heading towards Venlo has been closed, causing traffic jams in both directions this morning. All Eastbound lanes will be closed when the truck removal starts later today.
