DDW: Talent Award 2014 for students Design Academy

Two Eindhoven Design Academy students, Laura Ferriere and Eléonore Delisse, have won the Social Design Talent Award 2014 for their project The White Building.

Since 2009 the municipality of Eindhoven has awarded this prize annually during the Dutch Design Week and it is intended for designers developing solutions to social/societal issues in the municipal domain.

The award constitutes a paid assignment, worth € 10,000, by the municipality of Eindhoven. What this assignment will be, is not known yet. The idea behind the White Building project is to help prisoners discover and develop their talents as their release is drawing near.

The runner-up was TU/e Industrial Design student Martijn ten Bhömer with his Tactile Dialogues. The third place went to Marije Willemsen’s Het Ontdeklab and she is another Industrial Design student.
