Citizens committee to court to prevent opening refugee center

The citizens committee that protests against the arrival of 700 refugees to the Orangerie in Veldhoven has gone to court. The commitee has started proceedings against the city of Eindhoven.

The activists want the judge to prevent the center from soon opening its doors. Earlier they had already submitted an official complaint with the city.

The activists expect that the refugee center will severely harm the quality of life in the Blixembosch neighbourhood.

According to the citizens committee the decision to appoint the Orangerie as a refugee center has been unlawfully and illegally taken.

The LPF Opposing Fraction in the Eindhoven city council is supporting the actions the citizens committee has taken.
