New stage in Eindhoven Station redevelopment

The overhauling and redevelopment of the railway station reached a new stage again.

Construction is currently taking place at tracks number 4 and 5. This means that several trains will depart from different tracks starting this week.

Inside the station, a new concourse is being built, because the current tunnel was too small for the growing number of travellers. The new concourse will be thirteen meters wide with shops on both sides and better facilities.

Toon Stoef, construction manager at ProRail, says they are trying to ensure that the disturbance caused to travellers is kept to a minimum.

The new concourse should be finished by July 2016.
