Highest building TU/e becomes residential tower

The highest building of the TU (Eindhoven University of Technology) will be reconstructed into a residential tower.

The Potentiaal building has sixteen floors and should have room for about 300 student appartments.

The adjacent Corona building will also be renovated. It will house among others a restaurant and small shops. Furthermore 3000 square meters will be used for culture and student associations.

Another residential tower for students will rise one hundred meters further ahead. The Vestide cooperation is responsible for said housing estate. With these new appartments the TU/e aims to make the campus more vibrant. It also meets the growing need of housing among Eindhoven’s student population.

Building company Dura Vermeer will start to begin reconstructing the Potentiaal building next year. Vestide cooperation will be responsible for the other students residential tower. The reconstructions should be realised at the end of 2016.

The Potentiaal building is still used by the faculty of Electrical Engineering today. New development will be built for the faculty on campus.
