Hockey player Balkestein finishes international career

Marcel Balkestein, field hockey player with the Eindhoven club Oranje Zwart, is finishing his international career. He will not play any more international matches. This is announced by Dutch newspaper de Telegraaf.

The Orange field hockey team has a new coach, Max Caldas, and Balkestein does not see any role for himself in this team, he says in this news paper. He also wants to dedicate himself to a career outside the hockey field.

Balkestein has played 108 interlands in total. He continues to be under contract with Oranje Zwart for another 2 years.
