Philips axes hundreds of IT jobs

Philips is going to cut hundreds of IT jobs worldwide. The Eindhovens Dagblad reports that jobs will be lost in Eindhoven as well

The newspaper has got hold of a secret report by the electronics company, stating that the IT Infrastructure & Operations department "has got stuck in an old-fashioned working method". Therefore, a major reorganization is required.

Woldwide half of the 955 IT jobs are going to be cut. In the Netherlands 143 jobs will be lost, three quarters of them in Eindhoven.

Yesterday the people affected were informed of the reorganization. The reorganization has to be completed in 2017.
