Students present new electric race car

TU/e racing team presented their new electric race car yesterday. It is the tenth vehicle that URE (University Racing Eindhoven) has built.

Compared to the previous car, this one has larger wings. These should ensure a better grip in sharp turns. The new car also has super fast acceleration: from zero to one hundred in 2.7 seconds. That makes it faster than a standard Lamborghini or Ferrari, according to URE team manager Bart Kienhuis,

The URE team consists of about 60 students from the TU Eindhoven. The team is part of the international Formula Student competition.

This summer the students will race their car at Silverstone, Hockenheim and Barcelona-Catalunya. The cars are not only being rated for speed, but also for technical design, cost and efficiency.
