‘NL Doet’ (The Dutch Do) has started

This year ‘NL Doet’, the largest voluntary action in the Netherlands, takes place all over the country on 21 and 22 March. Eindhoven and surroundings are also contributing to this.

‘NL Doet’ is organized by the ‘Oranje Fonds’ (Orange Fund), and consists of all kinds of different initiatives. The Summa College, for instance, organizes a Beauty Day for the elderly. Senior citizens are really pampered by the students, teachers and other volunteers there.

And in nursing home Den Eerdbrand bookshelves are being made, so that the residents and people from the neighbourhood can go there to exchange books. The Eindhoven alderman Lenie Scholten is also taking part. She is an ambassador for ‘NL Doet’.

Today and tomorrow hundreds of thousands of Dutchmen, among whom the King and Queen, are expected to roll up their sleeves. Last year over 300,000 did so.
