Begin your own vegetable garden on municipal land. After today it will be easier than ever. At a conference in the Van Abbemuseum, a document will be signed making this possible.
City residents in the neighbourhood of empty municipal lots will be able to begin their own vegetable gardens. This should provide more green areas in the city and more camaraderie amongst residents because of people working together to build the gardens.
The idea originated from ‘Trefpunt Groen’ (Venue Green) and ‘Proeftuin 040’, who promote urban agriculture. They are organising the conference this afternoon. Alderman Schreurs will be signing the agreement.
