Eight million for TU/e researchers

Four TU/e researchers are receiving 2 million euro research grants each. It is the first time the European Research Council hands out these Consolidator Grants.

The grants are designed to support researchers with 7-12 years of experience since completion of their PhD. The Eindhoven researchers get up to 2.75 million euros each.

Prof.dr.ir. Erik Bakkers is researching new material combinations for creating nanowires. Dr.Ir. Johan Padding wants to focus on the optimization of reactor vessels for biofuel.

Dr. Nikhil Bansal is researching algorithms for the transportation industry and Prof.dr.ir. Jacco Snoeijer uses the grant to study the behaviour of drops on soft materials.
