As a protest, truck drivers were not driving any faster than 60 kilometres an hour on the A2 between Eindhoven and Weert today.
It is their way of seeking attention for wrongdoings in the transport sector. A lot of Dutch truckers are unemployed because it is considerably cheaper to hire personnel from Eastern Europe.The truck drivers gathered at Hotel Van der Valk at the Aalsterweg at three o’clock and then drove to Weert. Because of the decease of prince Friso last Monday, they all tied black ribbons around their mirrors.
