Bijenkorf Eindhoven is going to be upgraded

Large investments are going to be made in the Bijenkorf Eindhoven.

Reconstruction plans are made, new brands are going to be added and service is going to be improved.The stores located in Eindhoven, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Maastricht and Amstelveen meet the requirements to reach the international top, according to CEO Giovanni Colauto. All these stores will get the same level as Amsterdam’s flagship.Yesterday, the company announced that 5 out of the 12 stores are going to be closed down. The Arnhem and Enschede stores are going to be closed at the beginning of 2014; Groningen, Breda and Den Bosch in the spring of 2016. Eventually, 262 jobs are going to be lost. In the next five years, the department store is going to invest more than 200 million Euros in the 7 remaining stores, including the one located at the 18 Septemberplein in Eindhoven. This investment should create 500 jobs in the medium term.
