Catharina Hospital generates more profit

The Catharina Hospital has had a good year. It generated six million euros profit in 2012.

That is more than in the previous year, annual figures reveal. Turnover rose slightly too – by 2 per cent – to over 330 million euros. The number of patients remained about the same.Last year, 28,500,000 patients were treated in the Eindhoven hospital. Of these, 700 were treated in the new Obesity Centre. Tackling obesity is an area in which the Catharina has become more active. The same is true for the treatment of cardio-vascular disease and kidney disease. The Catharina is expanding rapidly. A pharmacy was opened near the entrance to the hospital in 2012. Last year also saw the start of building work on the new eight-storey outpatients’ building. It is due to be finished this summer.
