REFRAME FESTIVAL shows from the 9 to 21 April 2013 groundbreaking trends in the field of autonomous photography. Starting point of the festival is the changing role of the autonomous photographer and consequently the changing role of photography itself. Everyone who takes pictures is in fact a photographer. For this reason, there is a wealth of artwork. Authenticity is no longer the product of pushing the shutter-release button but of the choices the photographer or artist makes; the underlying thoughts and the story that is told. The REFRAME FESTIVAL examines the role of photography and shows photography under a different light: Photography as a medium, not as a goal.
The festival takes place on five different locations, each location with its own theme:
