Subsidies for social enterprises

EINDHOVEN – The city of Eindhoven grants €100.000 to companies and institutions that address social needs.

Together with socially responsible investor Start Foundation, a subsidy of €1.000 will be given to  companies who apply for the so-called ‘Prestatieladder Sociaal Ondernemen’, PSO (Performance ladder for social entrepreneurship), as of January 2013. This instrument, developed by TNO (Dutch Organisation for applied scientific research) and co-funded by Start Foundation, shows a company’s contribution to employment for vulnerable people on the labour market. PSO enables the connexion of various policy areas. After all, it is in the local authority’s interest to reduce welfare dependency and to guide people to employment as much as possible. A hundred companies are expected to benefit from these grants. The starting point is that the subsidies cover half the costs. The other half needs to be paid by the company itself. http://www.dichtbij.nl/eindhoven/zakelijk/artikel/2557282/subsidie-voor-sociaal-ondernemen.aspx
