Bieb Familie Festival: three weeks of extra activities at the library
Starting from the Children’s Book Week and all throughout the autumn holidays, it’s party time at the library! Join the fun activities in the theme gi-ga-green! And don’t miss the Big Festive Day on Sunday 16 October.
Gi-ga-green party from Wednesday 5 October until Sunday 30 October
Your child can build, make, watch and read as much as they want – all in the Children’s Book Week theme of ‘Gi-ga-green!’ Most of the activities are in Dutch, but there will be English activities as well. For example, ‘Expat Kids in Eindhoven’ will offer you tools to identify your moods and manage your anger or moments of sadness in the workshop ‘My emotions’. Or join the workshop ‘Muziek op schoot’ in the Waalre Library, especially for children between 1 – 4 years.
With the workshop ‘Mr. Grass Head’ Expat Kids in Eindhoven aim to teach children the development of vegetation, educating them to learn simple techniques, responsibilities and enjoyment of nature. And there is much more to do and experience, check out bibliotheekeindhoven.nl/festival for all activities. Reserve quickly to be sure of a spot!
Big Festive Day
Sunday afternoon,16 October, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a big party at the library in De Witte Dame. All afternoon there are free activities you can easily join for free. For example, make your own poster, learn to draw animals or join a theatre workshop. Check out bibliotheekeindhoven.nl/festival for which workshops you do need to register in advance.
Free membership for children
Did you know that children up to 18 years old can become a library member for free? If you now sign up online, the library card will be waiting for you at the library during the Bieb Familie Festival. And you will go home with a huge stack of books! Important, because by reading aloud or reading together with your child, you stimulate your child’s language development and lay the foundation for a lifetime of reading and learning with pleasure.
