TUe students develop special generator

Team FAST, a students-team of the TUe, have developed a special generator for construction sites. The fuel used by their generator consists for 99 percent of sustainable formic acid.

The new technology will be tested during a pilot project for the construction of the N211. This pilot is a collaboration between the FAST team, the construction company BAM Infra and the Province of Zuid-Holland.

If the pilot is successful, diesel generators could become superfluous.

According to the students, their generator has several advantages. For example:

  • refueling is easy,
  • the generator produces hardly any noise and
  • compared to diesel generators, their revolutionary generator does not emit any CO2.
