Sound design, programming, VR – 1000’s of scholars sample technology

Virtual reality, programming, operating robots, sound design, or 3D-printing. During Night of the Nerds in the Klokgebouw Eindhoven, thousands of high school students got started on technological assignments.

The purpose of Night of the Nerds, part of the Dutch Technology Week, is to get teenagers excited about technology. This intention is that students will end up following a technological field of study. Because, in the high-tech region of Eindhoven, there is a massive shortage of technicians. For that reason, 200 companies, regional municipalities, and educational institutions signed an agreement on Monday to tackle these deficits.

Night of the Nerds certainly attracted 4.500 students. This time, more secondary schools from the North and West of the country and Belgium also found their way to the event.
