An alternative to the current test alarm that goes off every first Monday of the month has been tested in the inner city of Eindhoven.
A kind of siren was regularly heard, and a spoken text: “This is a test alarm.”
The monthly test alarm that can be heard on the first Monday of the month at 12.00 will disappear from 2020 onwards. As an alternative, NL Alert is already in use, by which many people receive a message on their phone. But in addition to this, the Ministry of Justice and Security also investigates other forms of reporting.
The Eindhoven DITSS carries out the tests. The trial of the last days was carried out on and around Stadhuisplein, Stratumseind and Catharinaplein.
