Secondary school final exams start

For thousands of secondary school pupils in the Eindhoven region, the final exams period begins today.

For VMBO pupils, their first school leaving exam is Dutch. HAVO and VWO pupils are tested on their knowledge of  physics and mathematics. The exams take place nationally.

This year, the use of mobile phones is subject to strict control. According to pupil organisation LAKS, pupils are sometimes able to make good use their mobile phones during exams.

Last year, over 90% of all secondary school students graduated anyway. The exams last until 29 May.
