Roadworks affect traffic Eindhoven area

The access road to the A50 motorway at Ekkersrijt is closed for traffic from late Monday evening till Tuesday early morning.

Short project around Ekkersrijt

The cross-over at Ekkersrijt will be closed due maintenance work, carried out by Rijkswaterstaat. Entry and exit at Ekkersrijt will be closed for traffic to and from the industrial area near the motorway.

This is regular maintenance work. Warning signs and diversions are in place. The work should be completed by 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Longer project Montgomerylaan

The project which started at the Montgomerylaan today, will take longer to complete. This is no ordinary maintenance job. A tunnel will be constructed.

This tunnel will be created at the junction with Eindhoven’s ring road. The fast bus lane HOV2 is to cross the tunnel. The ring road will be partly excavated, so it will run under the Montgomerylaan.

From today, Monday, the road is closed. Traffic will be affected by this project for about a year and a half.

Until July, room is created to construct the new tunnel. Trees were already cut down late last year. Construction will start in July.

Because of this project and the work involved, it is impossible to drive from Woensel straight to Eindhoven city center. Cars driving along the Onze Lieve Vrouwestraat can also no longer turn left, into the Montgomerylaan.

Traffic is diverted till completion of this project; towards the end of 2019.
