Mayor opens newly renovated Eindhoven Station

Mayor Jorritsma led the official opening of Eindhoven’s newly renovated railway station on Thursday afternoon.

Secretary of State Stientje van Veldhoven (D66) and representatives from NS and ProRail joined the mayor, and various cultural activities took place to celebrate the opening.

The new station has much more space for foot traffic, and more shops have recently opened. About 75,000 travellers pass through the station on a busy day. Maximum capacity is now 85,000.

The cost of the renovations totalled around €70 million.
