Physiotherapists can watch ‘live’ operations

Physiotherapists from the region can watch ‘live’ operations in the St. Anna hospital in Geldrop.

Last month two operations were re-enacted: one on ankle ligaments and the other on a kneecap. The therapists were able to watch via a video link. In this way, employees in sports care and orthopaedic surgeons want to improve the way they share knowledge and collaborate in the treatment of sports injuries. Ultimately, patients should benefit from this.

More than 100 physiotherapists participated. Apart from watching, they could ask questions to the doctor in the operating room. This an initiative of the St. Anna Hospital and Eindhoven Topsupport.
