Staying healthy, the top New Year’s resolution

Giving more attention to staying fit and healthy is topping the list of New Year’s resolutions.

A new year is always a time for looking forward to the coming year. What do we want to do differently, what changes can we implement, which dreams can we pursue in the fresh year ahead of us?

According to different polls, attention to one’s health is in the top five.

  1. Eat better
  2. Exercise more
  3. More time for family and friends
  4. Self care (i.e. get more sleep)
  5. Spend less money
  6. Learn a new skill
  7. Get a new job
  8. Make new friends
  9. Pick up a new hobby
  10. Help others

There seems to be a lot of focus on our own well-being. We want to quit bad habits and feel better in the forthcoming year. Less stress and more rest are desirable.

We wish to prevent becoming sick and we like to stay healthy. What can we do about that? What possibilities are there? How can medicine help us with that? Can we get check-ups to stay in control? Can we get professional advice from GP’s, physios, dieticians or coaches? Are we willing to pay for this or should our insurance pay? What can we measure ourselves? What is available here in the region?

If you want to join the dialogue on the subject of Preventive Health Care you can attend this event. Here you can get to know more and find out what can be done. It is on 22 January 2018 in Eindhoven and organised by Healthcare for Internationals and SGE International.
