Dutch Design Foundation awarded provincial subsidy

The Dutch Design Foundation – the organisation behind Dutch Design Week – will receive a subsidy of €100,000 per month from provincial authorities until 2020.

The grant is intended for the Design Works program, which aims to design for companies, civil society organizations, and governments. The program helps come up with design solutions for social problems such as climate change, and also assists companies in improving their earning power or innovative strength.

Design Works also helps designers develop their business skills and build their network.

Martijn Paulen, Director of the Dutch Design Foundation, said “the support of the province is a huge boost. Important to us, but also for the designers for whom we make this program.”

By approving the grant the province also hopes to underline the importance of design in Brabant culture.
