Residential housing corporation involves tenants in DDW

Woonbedrijf has an exhibition in honour of the Dutch Design Week (DDW) right in the middle of Eindhoven. Tenants and designers are showing how they envisage their own neighbourhood.

Woonbedrijf has several examples of projects in which designers collaborated with local residents. What is comfortable living? What does it mean for houses; a neighbourhood; those living there? These questions form the core of collaboration in such projects. The collaboration is called ‘Co-design’.

Woonbedrijf often uses designers to find creative answers to the above questions. In order to illustrate the design process, an exhibition is being hosted at the building of the housing corporation’s building in the center of Eindhoven during DDW.

Examples of neighbourhoods which were realized in collaboration with designers include Space-S at Strijp-s. The Gerretsonhof near Prinsejagt, as well as the student-accommodation on the TU/Ee grounds, have also been designed using collaboration and consultation.

The exhibition at Woonbedrijf, at de Wal 2,  can be visited daily until 17:00.
