A 33-year-old man from Valkenswaard, accused of sexually abusing an 8-year old boy, was arrested on Sunday.
The abuse, allegedly, took place in Dommelen, on Wednesday. The boy was approached by the man along Cornelispad, and was abused behind shrubbery near the Dommel river. Police immediately started a large-scale investigation. They searched for clues and interviewed dozens of people living in the area.
The man from Valkenswaard became a suspect thanks to, among other things, tips. Police arrested him in his house yesterday. Professional help has been arranged for the boy. At primary schools in, not only, Dommelen, the matter was widely discussed among children, parents and teachers last week.
The suspect has been remanded in custody and contiues to be questioned.
