Eindhoven men’s hockey team loses

The Oranje Rood (Orange Red) field hockey team lost their match against Amsterdam on Sunday afternoon. The team of coach Lucas Judge lost by 3-4 to the capital’s team, despite playing on their home ground.

Orange Red started the match strong and at times dominated the game. Agustin Mazzilli ensured the Eindhoven team got a head start after just three minutes, by scoring first. Ten minutes later, Boris Burkhart scored the equiliser. Before the end of the first quarter, Bob de Voogd ensured Orange Red led again by 2-1.

But then the Eindhoven team’s performance started to suffer. Tijn Lisonne managed to score and the Amsterdam team equalised.

During the third quarter, first Casper Horn and then Burkhart scored ensuring the Amsterdam team led by 4-2. Well into the third quarter, Mink van der Weerden managed to score from a penalty corner, but there was too little time left for Orange Red to go after a tie.

Since the Eindhoven team lost their first two matches of the current competition, they are now ranked in last position.
