This morning, at about 09:30, a head-on collision between two cars occurred on Eindhovenseweg, between Eindhoven and Son. Immediately after the collision, one of the cars caught fire. Bystanders managed to save the trapped driver from the burning vehicle.
There was havoc on Eindhovenseweg. The man who was trapped in his burning car was seriously injured. An ambulance took him to hospital. The woman driving the other car was also wounded and taken to hospital.
It is unclear how the accident could have happened. After the crash, the road was closed for some time for collision investigation and salvage work.
