42 motorists fined on A67 for calling and whatsapp

On the A67 this morning, 42 drivers were taken off the road and fined. The drivers were busy on their phone while driving.

They were expensive whatsapp messages or phone calls for the motorists: there is a fine of 239 euros on the use of the mobile phone behind the wheel.

Because of the large number of accidents on the A67, the police are checking the motorway around Eindhoven and Valkenswaard. Particular attention is paid to mobile phones and tailgating. These are the main causes of accidents according to the police.

According to the police, an average of 35 accidents occur on the A67 on a monthly basis. Often truck drivers are involved. The result is more damage, a high chance of injured and longer traffic jams.
