‘Students in Eindhoven pay too much for rooms’

'Students in Eindhoven pay too much for rooms'

In Eindhoven, 64 percent of students pay too much rent. This was the conclusion of a study done by the Landelijke Studentenvakbond (National Student Union).

Students in this city pay an average of 300 euro for a room that is smaller than 18 square meter. According to the Property Valuation Index, in which government has fixed maximum rent prices, this is, on average, 90 euros too much.

But, it seems, Eindhoven is on par with these rental prices. The Union states that, countrywide, almost 73% of students pay too much rent.

The sample for this study included a total of 6 700 students.
