The TU in Eindhoven is the first university that has begun with crowdfunding.This is according to ED . The TU wants to use this money for charitable projects.
The first projects are a drone that will be placed at a orphanage and an environmentally-friendly car. Donors can give between 25 and 500 euros to help fund these innovative initiatives.
The TU does not only want to collect money with the crowdfunding projects. They also want to use this to strengthen the involvement of the students and staff at the university. Donors will be kept abreast with regard to developments in the projects.
There are various requirements before a project can be considered. These include that the project can achieve results relatively quickly and that it is clearly directly contributes to making the world a better place.
