New exhibition: Eindhoven from the fifteenth century until the present day

The development of Eindhoven from the fifteenth century until the present day. In the Erfgoedhuis, heritage centre, visitors can see how Eindhoven developed to the city it is today. The exhibition opened yesterday.

The exhibition ‘Markt tot Metropool’, Market to Metropole, shows how fiercely Eindhoven grew, especially the last century and a half. Amongst others, there is attention for the uniting of the erstwhile villages Woensel, Strijp, Gestel, Stratum and Tongelre with Eindhoven a hundred years ago.

You can also see the plans for city rejuvenation and innovation that never materialized and buildings that were torn down.

De exhibition is put together by volunteers from Eindhoven in Beeld.
