Gas leak on Voorterweg under control

The Voorterweg has been reopened after a gas leak saw the road closed for several hours on Saturday.

A dog walker called the fire department around 9am on Saturday to report the smell of gas and air bubbles rising from the pavement.

Police closed the road and a nearby office building was ventilated after responding firefighters detected a high concentration of gas.

Workers from energy company Enexis repaired the leak.
