Eindhoven 10th in top 15 Traffic jams

Eindhoven, Breda and Tilburg are in place 10, 9 and 8 respectively, of the Dutch cities that had the most traffic delays. That was calculated by the TomTom Traffic Index route planner.

A ride in Eindhoven in 2016 was on average 19% delayed by traffic congestion. Which is 3% more than last year. In the morning and evening the delay increases to 30% and 38% respectively.

That means that someone who drove daily to and from work during rush hours last year, was in a traffic jam for 79 hours. Biggest bottlenecks are the crossing Kennedylaan /Onze Lieve Vrouwestraat, De Hogt junction and the entrance and exit Kempenbaan in Veldhoven.

Although the number of hours of traffic jams has increased in Brabant, cities in the Randstad (conurbation of Western Holland) have overtaken these.

Of the 17 cities in the Netherlands that were examined, Den Bosch has the best result. Along with Zwolle, the provincial capital does not appear in the top 15. This year, Haarlem is the traffic jam city of the Netherlands.
