Arrival of priest to Al Fourqaan mosque halted

In December last year, the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) halted the arrival of the controversial imam, sheikh Al-Mutairi to the Al Fourqaan mosque in Eindhoven. This is evident from answers of the college to board questions.

In May last year, Al-Mutairi was allowed to come to Eindhoven to speak at the Al Fourqaan mosque. The IND said, at the time, that there was no danger. In December, that apparently changed. The reason for the visa withdrawal is not known. The controversial priest is, however, on an American list of financiers of terrorism. The National Co-ordinator for Counter-terrorism also examined the case.

The municipality announced that it has close contact with the mosque with regard to inviting speakers. When the IND decided to withdraw the visa for this speaker, Al Fourqaan also withdrew their invitation.
