Open playground in Acht

Acht has a new playground and although you could not tell at first glance, it was not a straightforward process.

Four years ago Suzanne Bekkers, mother of three children, presented her first question to the CityHall: “Could there be a playground at Leistraat?” The answer she got was short and clear: No: Acht has enough playgrounds already.

Suzanne decided not to leave it at that. Eighteen months ago she started a campaign collecting signatures within the district and signed virtually all residents. When not even this convinced the Municipality, she enlisted the help of the Village Council in Acht and the ‘Happiness Ambassador’ from Eindhoven.

The result of this collaboration was the playground now called ‘the Leiveldje”. The playground is inaugurated this Friday.
