50 000th visitor to DAF Museum

The DAF Museum received it’s 50 000th of the year, yesterday. The unsuspecting Groot grandparents and their grandchildren were warmly welcomed by Director Joost van den Bosch.

Rein-Jan and Teuni Groot took their grandchildren to the DAF Museum and were welcomed with flowers, a glass of champagne and many cameras. The family was clearly impressed by all the attention.

The Groot couple had visited the DAF Museum before with their own children. A generation later, the exhibition is still popular with Rein-Jan and Teuni.

The DAF Museum has seen considerable growth in its visitor numbers. Just a few years ago 40 000 people came to the automobile and truck exhibition on a yearly basis. Thanks to this success, there are plans for a major extension to the museum.

Director Boost van den Bosch hopes to begin, in two years, with the construction of 1 200 square meters of exhibition space, after which the goal of sixty thousand visitors per year will be quickly accomplished.
