Cyclists’ tunnel at Geldrop Station to be refurbished

The tunnel for cyclists and pedestrians at Geldrop Station is to be refurbished in the coming months. As of today, the tunnel is closed for traffic.

The canopy at the Zesgeruchten side is to be removed, which will make the tunnel nineteen metres shorter. The Municipal Council hopes the refurbishment will improve the safety, appeal and experience of the NS station.

Before excavation and demolition work starts, a number of trees and bushes are to be removed. Work is expected to take around five weeks.

Cyclists and pedestrians will be diverted by way of the tunnel on Hoog Geldrop. They can use the route via Eindhovenseweg. Access to the station from the city centre side will remain open.
