Construction work on take-off and landing strip according schedule

Despite of the heavy rain falls, the construction work in Eindhoven Airport is continuing.

A new layer of asphalt was applied to the take-off and landing strip last week. It was extremely necessary, since the former layer, was 12 years old.

The job was done by nine asphalt machines, applying 30,000 tons of asphalt, in one flow, over the 45 meter-wide and 3 km-long take-off and landing strip. The one flow application enables a smooth layer without seams. The construction work is done 24 hours a day, in order to be able to complete the work on time.

The major construction work will be completed by 16 June 2016 and then, the airport will be operational again. All other construction work at the airport will go on until 16 July, 2016.
