Workshops to attend at the International Festival

Already several workshops are planned for the International Festival on June 12th 2016 in Eindhoven. Here you will find a selection.

Education system in the Netherlands and multilingual upbringing

Time 14:30 – 15:00

Mrs Marom Ayoubi is an education psychologist and Sara Villavicencio Llerena is a child coach and teacher. Sara was born in Peru and moved to the Netherlands in 1992 with her former husband. She wanted to proceed her career in biology in the Netherlands but that was not as easy as she had imagined. After her daughter was born she decided to change her career path and became a pre schoolteacher in 1996. She specialized in the pedagogical method "Kaleidoscoop". As a teacher she became interested in the education system in the Netherlands and as the head of the project "Active parents and Education in Eindhoven" she tries to stimulate parents to get involved with the education of their child.

Bookbinding

Time: 13:30 – 14:15

During this workshop participants will see step by step the hand binding technique for a multi section notebook. Some of the techniques will be the folding of the paper, the pricking of the sections and the hand sewing with the help of linen tapes.
Chaido Retziou is an art conservator and a hand bookbinder from Greece. She studied Conservation of Art in Athens with an expertise in restoring organic materials such as paper, books, paintings, wall paintings and wood. She continued her studies at Florida State University where she received a Master’s degree in Historic Clothing and Textiles. After the completion of the studies Chaido was employed as a professor by Florida State University. She moved to the Netherlands about 5 years ago. She is now working as a freelancer in hand bookbinding focusing on doing workshops, something she is very passionate about.

Breath is the link between body and mind and it is the key to handle our emotions to deal with personal and professional challenges, to live life in fullest potential.

Soul storytelling

What was your dream when you were a child? What makes you happy and smile?
On the safe storytelling couch people can tell their stories and hear the
stories of others. It is fun, recognizing, inspiring and touching.
Come and hear the stories of others and share yours. You are more than welcome.
