The mayor’s office wants to adapt zoning plans for the NRE grounds in order to prevent the establishment of buildings such as nightclubs, according to the zoning notes.
Current zoning rules allow for the construction of many different facilities, including various forms of hospitality. Nightclubs are not explicitly prohibited, which the mayor hopes to change.
Details of the zoning plan will be discussed in a city council meeting scheduled for May 10.
