Eindhoven Airport closed for two weeks from tomorrow

Eindhoven Airport will be closed for two weeks, starting tomorrow, for renovation work to the runway.

After twelve years, the runway is worn, and therefore must be resurfaced with new asphalt. Maintenance work has previously been carried out, but that was done at night, so flights could continue as normal in the daytime. This time, however, the decision was made to close the airport for two weeks, so there will be no flights in or out.

Wear and tear to the runway is normal. Repairs are needed every ten to fifteen years. The renovation will cost a total of almost eleven million Euros.
